Regardless of what you derive from it, it was in fact intended to teach rules of simple programming to kids and inexperienced users of all ages. Not as MS's "LBP killer" like our thorough gaming media reports.

http://research.microsoft.c...

Whether it actually accomplishes that task in a meaningful way is something we can argue about all day.

"Sparrow- Actual 12-year-old girl"

Did they think we'd assume she was a very immature 30-year-old?

That's hilariously ignorant of you.

If you know anything at all about FFVII, Japan, or JRPGs you should realize gamers over there will eat this up with both hands.

I don't really deal in hype. I like certainties. And the PS3 certainly has a lot of games I enjoy so I could really care less what the media thinks of it or Sony or Microsoft or Nintendo.

I'm sure a lot of people SAY they won't get it because they're fed up with the wait and the politics. But at the end of the day we're all gamers and it's the newest instalment of a major series so...

The hype has long run its course for me, personally.

I could personally care less about the FS games, but it doesn't inspire confidence to see MS closing another studio. With the dissolution of Ensemble and ACES it feels a lot like MS could care less about its PC gaming legacy when compared to the 360. And that's a little sad.

Well, no sh*t.

It's not like they threw a pile of electronics together and marvelled at the results. MS intentionally made the 360 easy to develop for. Both have methods to the madness.

Wow. That sounds...different. I'm not a fan of the series by any stretch, but as has been mentioned, the way to go with this is NOT heavy action.

I wouldn't want to play if I'm going to be controlling a gal in love (got enough of that with FFX-2, thx) but I'm willing to at least TRY if the gameplay is innovative enough. Sounds like they have to look beyond the usual "see a baddy, kill a baddy" formula.

This is just confusing. Damn internet.

6252d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Subject matter aside, it might help to have a few reasons why the games placed as they did. It's pretty meaningless without.

Mixed feelings.

I can't say Apple would do a crap job, but I can voice my irrational fear that they would follow Nintendo's lead.

"The official announcement will 'take place at GDC' (which starts March 23)"

That's really the only sentence worth taking seriously about now. It's a tantalizing prospect for ME to grace PS3, but I'm not buying into this until that confirmation.

Anyone familiar with this "Second Story Gamer"? Credible?

6254d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Haha. Reborn. I was wondering if anyone else subconsciously omitted "disc edition" from the title like I did XD

Still this is pretty good news.

Maybe it's not overhyped, but the fanboyism absolutely flames over this game.

I've never seen how simply comparing K2 to other games gets you overwhelmingly negative responses. Be they verbal or in the timid form of disagrees.

As if offering a variety of innovative and distinctly unique games as well as classics somehow hurts the PS3.

What the hell reasoning is that? Variety is the only mag I know that takes it's ignorance of gaming and attempts to broadcast from a stance of faux-enlightenment. Give it a rest.

Let the mainstream drink this drivel with a straw because real gamers know what's what. Art included.

Single-player shouldn't disappear. I already hate it when a game goes the MMO route.

I don't want to play glorified MMOs. I don't want to be forced into the battlefield with every random idiot online just to experience whatever attempt at a narrative the devs made. It becomes so much harder to suspend belief when you enter a public forum of players talking about Starbucks and new iPods during battle. Just imagine if Final Fantasy had stopped with XI.

Neither side is really trying to crush the other so it's fail all around. This isn't even in the realm of believability.

That in mind, it was a hilarious waste of five minutes.

If this comes to PS3 THIS YEAR, I'll be surprised what with the unnaturally daunting "architecture" of the console you hear bandied about by devs. Of course Bethesda seems to have the hang of it, at least enough to release Fallout 3 across three platforms simultaneously so let's see how Bioware does.

Here's hoping.

Now that's a sad story. I fully agree that MS needs to take time to address this asinine policy of d*cking its customers around with digital content. It is unacceptable, especially for a pay service.

And it should also function as a lesson to how consumers should NOT be treated by any provider if they ever expect us to embrace their future of digital downloads. Stuff like this can't be allowed to happen.
